This past Tuesday, May 12th, the North Rock Creek High School Band participated in a very special event. The combined North Rock Creek, Tecumseh, and Meeker Bands performed “A Vast Future,” a piece commissioned just for our bands and written by Mr. Jackson Anderson. The bands will perform the piece this summer in Washington DC in celebration of our country’s 250 year anniversary. The bands put on a preview performance Tuesday, May 12th at the state capitol. The superintendents of each school district funded the commission piece, and we are so grateful for their support!
Don’t forget! NRC Coed Kids Basketball Camp is coming up June 22–24! 🐾🏀

Mrs. Abbott's class has loved the special visitors in their classrooms lately! 💛
Riley and Aubri stopped by to read and share the books they wrote and illustrated in Mrs. White’s Family & Parenting class, and the students absolutely loved it! They also got one more visit from Ms. Barnett’s Senior Project students before the school year wraps up. These friendships and connections between our students mean so much! 🐾

Abby Bloyed capped off an incredible state meet with another school record performance.
Abby placed 7th in the 400m, breaking her previous school record with a time of 59.68. She also ran a 58.91 split in the girls 4x400 relay to help lead the Lady Cougars to a 6th place finish at state.

The girls 4x400 relay team of Evva Baker, Evy Simpson, Ally Fichtner, and Abby Bloyed placed 6th at the State Track Meet while setting a new school record with a time of 4:04.75. This same group of girls also placed 7th in the 4x200 relay at the State Track Meet while setting a new school record with a time of 1:45.23.

CJ Stephens brought home a medal in the 100m at the State Track Meet and broke his own school record in the prelims with a blazing 10.62. He also placed 4th in the 200m, setting another school record in prelims with a time of 21.70.
