Grateful for the heart of our Cougar family — students, staff, and community who make every day special. Happy Thanksgiving! 🐾
Today we held our cultural assembly in honor of Native American Heritage Month. We were grateful to welcome Principal Chief Audrey Rose Lee, along with elected officials and tribal princesses who joined us for the celebration.
Students also enjoyed hearing from Mark Megehee, who is portraying Jim Thorpe, and Charles “Dukon” Harris, who played a role as Jim Thorpe in a History Channel documentary. Their stories helped bring important history to life.
The assembly featured singers and dancers who shared beautiful performances that highlighted the strength and tradition of Native culture.
Thank you to all of our guests and performers for sharing their time and culture with us.

Special Olympics – Wednesday Basketball Skills Competition Recap! 🏀
Our athletes took on four exciting basketball challenges across Levels 1, 2, and 3.
The skill stations included:
Dribbling
Passing
Catching
Shooting
Competition Highlights
Dribbling
Athletes raced*sideline-to-sideline and back while dribbling. Their finish times were used to determine a score (time subtracted from 70).
Passing
Competitors aimed carefully, making five accurate passes through a square target.
Catching
Hand–eye coordination was put to the test with 10 wall–bounce catches.
Shooting
Athletes took 12 shots from multiple spots around the basket—each one a chance to score big!
🥇 Results
We had 9 amazing athletes competing—and they delivered!
6 athletes earned 1st place
3 athletes earned 2nd place
What a fantastic day of basketball skills and celebration! 🏀

Please see the attached flyer for the scheduled photo times for each sport. We kindly ask that families arrive only at the time assigned to their child’s sport so we can stay on schedule.
We will also have a designated Parent Photo Section available. 📸
We ask that parents and guardians remain in this area during the event to help keep the main floor clear and ensure teams can move efficiently from station to station.
Thank you for your cooperation— we’re excited for another great Media Day. 🐾
