Students also enjoyed hearing from Mark Megehee, who is portraying Jim Thorpe, and Charles “Dukon” Harris, who played a role as Jim Thorpe in a History Channel documentary. Their stories helped bring important history to life.
The assembly featured singers and dancers who shared beautiful performances that highlighted the strength and tradition of Native culture.

Special Olympics – Wednesday Basketball Skills Competition Recap! 🏀
Our athletes took on four exciting basketball challenges across Levels 1, 2, and 3.
The skill stations included:
Dribbling
Passing
Catching
Shooting
Competition Highlights
Dribbling
Athletes raced*sideline-to-sideline and back while dribbling. Their finish times were used to determine a score (time subtracted from 70).
Passing
Competitors aimed carefully, making five accurate passes through a square target.
Catching
Hand–eye coordination was put to the test with 10 wall–bounce catches.
Shooting
Athletes took 12 shots from multiple spots around the basket—each one a chance to score big!
🥇 Results
We had 9 amazing athletes competing—and they delivered!
6 athletes earned 1st place
3 athletes earned 2nd place
What a fantastic day of basketball skills and celebration! 🏀
