This week we have two NRC 4-H'ers at the Ignite Conference in Washington D.C.! 🐾
🔴 Tori Nelms, an 11th-grade Oklahoma 4-H STEM Ambassador and Innovator, is returning to the Ignite Conference in Washington D.C., to lead another hands-on workshop, continuing to inspire the next generation of innovators through leadership, creativity, and a passion for STEM. Representing Oklahoma on a national stage, Tori is making an impact by empowering students and proving that youth leadership can drive real change.
⚫️ Grace Hobbs, a 10th grader at North Rock Creek, is representing our school, community, and state on an international stage as an Oklahoma State 4-H Ambassador and State Record Book Winner in Fabric & Fashions, where she is leading a workshop at the Ignite International 4-H Conference in Washington, D.C.
Grace’s project, 4-H Has Heart, was selected to be showcased at the Ignite conference; Grace has inspired over 20,000 4-H members across two countries and impacted more than 90,000 nursing home residents, truly representing the best of North Rock Creek, Shawnee, and Oklahoma by showing what it means to lead with heart and live out Cougar Spirit.
Another successful day for the NRC Varsity Boy’s Golf Team as they finished as runner-up in the Stroud Golf Tournament. Jake Hacker finished 4th as an individual! Great job! 🐾

This Tuesday, our Middle School Student Council and NJHS students headed to the State Capitol for an inside look at state government. Highlights of the trip included:
•Floor Introductions: A big thank you to Senator Shane Jett and Representative Dell Kerbs for introducing our group to the Senate and House galleries.
•Q&A Session: Students had the unique opportunity to sit down with Senator Jett to ask questions about the legislative process.
•Special Thanks: We truly appreciated the warm welcome and hospitality from Ana Jett!

NRC Girls Golf also had a great day yesterday! ⛳️
Both Varsity and JV competed at the North Canadian River Valley Conference Tournament at the Elks Golf Course in Shawnee. They were crowned Conference Champions, with Robyn Click placing 4th and Kimber Chesser finishing 5th. Great job, girls! 🐾

CougarCare has been named Center of the Year by the ECU staff at Childcare Resource and Referral! The award was presented this weekend during a training, and it’s a wonderful recognition of the care and dedication that happens every day in that program.
